It is used to clean the scythe edge, hammer and anvil surfaces before peening and it allows us to see exactly where our hammer strikes fell. Great for removing fine rust. Grit 120. Long lasting – the abrasive material forms part of the material the sanding block is made of (it is not just on the block surface). Made in Germany. Size 8 x 5 x 2 cm.
The brushed surface reflects light from all directions. Once hit with the polished peening hammer, it produces a mirror-like reflective finish on the scythe blade. This kind of visual feedback is important for superior peening as it is possible to observe the progress of peening and its quality. It also turns the peening process into a joyful activity.
