Peening Hammer with Polished Face

The flat face of the hammer (not the peen) is polished to prevent tearing of the fine edge. A high-quality scythe can be peened to almost “zero” thickness with such a hammer. Rounded edges prevent damage in case of minor peening errors. We suggest you use the flat center for peening the edge . The handle is firmly fitted to the hammer and promises many years of service.

The handle is shorter than with normal hammers which gives more space, control and feel for the job.

Taking advantage of gravity while peening, not much force must be exerted with a 600 g hammer.

This hammer is made of C45 high carbon steel hardened to 50 – 55 HRC.

This hammer is designed to be used in combination with the narrow ViaNatura or Fux anvils.
